Sabbath Day

April 14, 2011

Today is a Sabbath day. After preaching about Overwork and Sabbath rest a couple of weeks ago during my Lenten sermon series, I have committed to taking Thursdays as a Sabbath day at the church. The one exception will be the monthly Thursday meeting of the board of deacons, which cannot be changed immediately- but I will find another way. My plan for today is to read medieval literary theory and a bit more of James Simpson’s history of English literary history, Reform and Cultural Revolution, 1350-1547.

    Hi Jeff
I love this sermon – I read it at the office, before starting my work, on a Thursday. But I do have to work now anyway!

It’s wonderful to read your sermons. I really miss hearing them, and am glad that you have this blog to share them.
