Ready Allies to Stand Against Violence, Hatred and Fear

September 7, 2012

A few weeks ago I prayed on a Sunday morning, in the wake of several weeks of gun violence as well as violence against Muslims and Muslim communities, that at such a time as this our Muslim neighbors would find in us ready allies to stand against violence, hatred and fear. I am proud to have signed on to a letter denouncing the fear, distortion and misinformation promoted by this ad, and to recommit to a common hope for peace.

Grateful to colleagues and allies, including WPPC Parish Associate Sarah Henkel, who were able to attend; to my Presbyterian collagues (there are many of you) who signed on to the letter; and to the Council of the White Plains Presbyterian Church who offered our church as as back-up site for the press conference in case of rain.
