Sabbath Day

December 4, 2015

Having been sick recently, I spent several extra hours in bed today, sleeping hard. It was needed.

Had a mostly quiet, reflective day: late morning coffee with my wife at Hasting Tea Room, took our vacuum in for repair, dropped by the church, helped August with his homework.

I read a bit here and there: African-American history, black theology, white supremacy, urban planning, local history, indigenous history. I followed the news out of COP21, the climate talks, and posted  a few articles on Facebook about it. I contacted my representatives to reaffirm support for gun control. Again.

With all homework done and a simple meal for dinner, the whole family watched an episode of Star Trek, Next Generation (we are now in Season 2). At the end of the night I put August to bed and then loaded the car with groceries to be delivered to the food pantry tomorrow.

A good day.
